OFF WITH THE LEAF

FIG-uratively Speaking Of Course- Black & White Oils and other Nudes

In 1996, I, along with 11 other artists from Myrtle Beach had a showing of the naked form. Nudes for those who are not prudes! Since I was still a very new artist and had never painted a naked body before (as you may tell from my paintings) this was a big challenge to me. I did not have any models (including myself) so don't expect to see a Master's work here. I'm probably only one step up from "stick people" here by thier standards, but in my defense (and with some pride) I will say that during that show I had the highest number of paintings sold. I sold three to the same unknown patron from Florida.

24 x 18 inch Black and White oil on stretched canvas. This was my first attempt at impressionism using only black and white oil paint.

24 x 36 inch Black and White oil on stretched canvas. NOT FOR SALE! This won a Patron's Award (Office Depot sponsor) at the 28th Annual WGAC VIVACE Show. This was only the second painting I had ever entered into a competition; so far I was two for two.. NO, this was NOT me.. only the dream was!

Double Exposure SOLD

18 x 36 oil on canvas (Framed) This was one of three paintings I SOLD at the Off With the Figleaf show in Myrtle Beach, SC (Dec 1999) to the same collector. I never took a picture of the third one. Again, I'm no photographer! I may not even be considered an artist but I am selling and being collected! LOL Besides, what do I know about NUDE Bodies, a good Queens Irish Catholic from NY?
